What a good email signature includes
Your name, job title and company, so people know who they're dealing with.
One or two ways to reach you, usually a phone number and your website. Your email address is optional, since readers already have it.
A small logo or photo, which makes your emails instantly recognisable.
No more than a couple of social links, and no long quotes or legal text unless your company requires it.
Logo tips
Use a small PNG or JPG around 160 pixels wide, so it looks sharp on high-resolution screens when shown at 80 pixels.
Host it on your own website and use the https:// link. Avoid file-sharing links that need a login, as they won't display for recipients.
Some email apps hide images until the reader allows them, so your name and details are plain text and always visible.

Frequently asked questions
How do I add the signature to Gmail?
Click "Copy signature", then in Gmail go to Settings, See all settings, Signature, Create new, paste it in and save at the bottom of the page.
Why does my logo not show?
Email signatures load images from a web address. Upload your logo to your website (or an image host) and paste its https:// link. Some email apps hide images until the reader allows them.
Will it look the same in every email app?
The signature uses tables and inline styles, the most reliable way to build email layouts, so it looks consistent in Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail.
Is my information stored?
No. The signature is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded or saved.
Can I use the same signature on my phone?
Mobile apps often accept only simple text signatures. Set the full signature in Gmail or Outlook on a computer; it's used for mail you send from the web and desktop.
Why does my signature look different after pasting?
Some apps change fonts on paste. In Apple Mail, untick "Always match my default message font"; in Gmail, paste into the signature box rather than the message.
