Username and password
Username: Your full AT&T address, such as [email protected] (also sbcglobal.net, bellsouth.net and other AT&T domains).
Password: A secure mail key, created in your AT&T profile under Sign-in info. Your normal AT&T password won't work in mail apps.
Good to know
- AT&T email is run with Yahoo, but it uses its own server names. Don't use the Yahoo settings for an AT&T address.
- Each secure mail key is shown once, so paste it into your app straight away. You can make a new one at any time.
How to set it up in a mail app
- Open your mail app and choose to add an account. If it offers "Other", "Manual setup" or "Advanced", pick that.
- Choose IMAP (recommended) or POP.
- Enter the incoming and outgoing servers, ports and security from the table above.
- Use the username and password described below.
- Turn on "Outgoing server requires authentication" and use the same username and password.
If it doesn't work
- "Invalid password"
- Use a secure mail key, not your AT&T password.
Getting a bounce with a code like 550 or 5.7.26 when you send? Look it up in the SMTP error code library.
